Emergencies: Dr. Yang can be reached 24 hours a day 7days a week by his patients for emergencies. During work hours patients should call 212-744-8114. After hours they must call 212-744-8568 to reach the answering service. Dr. Yang will then be paged. This is a service to his patients for urgent and emergency problems only and should not be abused. After office hours, a patient may be asked to go to the emergency room where they will be seen by Dr. Yang or his resident on call. If an extreme emergency arises that requires on-site assistance or rapid transportation to the hospital, call 911 immediately. Lenox Hill Hospital is Dr. Yang's primary hospital. The emergency room is open 24 hours a day and is covered at all times by one of Dr. Yang's orthopaedic residents. Patients are initially evaluated by an emergency room physician. The Lenox Hill Hospital's emergency room is located at 130 East 77th Street in Manhattan between Park Avenue and Lexington Avenue. If an emergency arises outside New York City, the closest hospital emergency room should be used if necessary. In the event that Dr. Yang is out of town, there is always a covering orthopaedic surgeon. The answering service will know who to contact.
